Why Holistic Counseling?

If you’ve ever felt like traditional therapy just isn’t enough, like you keep talking about your struggles but don’t actually feel better, you’re not alone. Many people are looking for a deeper kind of support that helps create meaningful, lasting change.

At BrainBody Wellness Counseling, we take a holistic approach to therapy that looks beyond symptoms to understand the connection between your thoughts, emotions, body, nervous system, and past experiences.

Our licensed therapists in Scottsdale use evidence-based approaches tailored to each client’s needs. We work with adults, teens, and children experiencing anxiety, trauma, ADHD, OCD, depression, relationship challenges, and other forms of emotional distress.

Whether you’re looking for in-person therapy in Scottsdale or online counseling in Arizona or New Mexico, our goal is to help you create meaningful, lasting change.

Instead of focusing only on what feels “wrong,” we help you understand how your brain, body, and past experiences are connected—and how that awareness can support your growth and healing.

Our Story: Holistic Counseling in Scottsdale, AZ

Our founder, Dr. Ali, became a clinical psychologist specializing in health psychology because of her interest in the connection between the mind and body. Early in her career, she became interested in going beyond approaches that focused primarily on changing thoughts and coping with symptoms. She wanted to better understand the experiences, emotions, behaviors, and patterns that may be contributing to a person's distress.

That interest led her to explore evidence-based and experiential approaches such as EMDR, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Brainspotting, mindfulness, and somatic approaches. Rather than relying on one method for every client, these therapies can help our clinicians work with different aspects of a person's experience, including thoughts, emotions, behaviors, past experiences, and the body's response to stress.

This philosophy became the foundation of BrainBody Wellness Counseling. Our goal is not simply to help clients cope with symptoms, but to understand the patterns contributing to emotional distress and create opportunities for meaningful, lasting change.

Today, our licensed therapists work with adults, teens, and children using a holistic approach tailored to each client's individual needs. Our clinicians are trained in a variety of therapeutic approaches, including EMDR, ERP, Brainspotting, mindfulness, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, and other evidence-based interventions.
